I tried to do some research on Karl-Heinz Stockhausen’s Helikopter Streichquartett for class, but I failed. Although part of the assignment was to get under 50 hits on a search engine, and I succeeded brilliantly in that respect. The best thing I found in the search was this short video on YouTube showing a 2 minute excerpt of a performance of the piece. The piece is basically four musicians playing the music composed by Stockhausen while flying in helicopters around the venue where the audience is. All of the musicians are being amplified into the venue, along with the helicopter noises.
Who can say Modern Classical music is boring?
